HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!

This is a day for celebrating! My wonderful Daddy is 57 years old today. I'm such a Daddy's girl so today is a BIG day for me. My mom is working nights so tonight I'm going to his house and make him dinner. He doesn't really have a favorite meal, he has favorites that people make but I've never really been his favorite cook so tonight I'm making what I wanna make! I hope he likes it. What's not to like? It's chicken cordon bleu casserole. Easy! Cheesy! Yummy! We had cake and ice cream last night and he really shouldn't have too many sweets so I'm debating on a cake tonight. His favorite cake is chocolate (like father like daughter!) but Casey made him a chocolate cake last night. I could make anything really. He is diabetic but he just loves the sweets. In our office we made cookies for all our closings. To get from his office to the bathroom you had to pass by the kitchen area where we baked the cookies. Almost daily you would see him leave the bathroom and head back to his office wiping his hands with the paper towel. Nothing unusual until you went to his office and realized he would use the paper towel to mask the cookie he was trying to hide. My daddy has massive hands, so big in fact that he could literally be carrying a cookie in his hand and you would never see it. I call his hands his paws. So I started the practice of asking if he "pawed one of my cookies" every time he passed by them. I have to admit, although I've heard his jokes a million times, he is still one of the funniest people I know. I could sit and listen to him talk for hours. (Which is probably a good thing cause he will sit and talk for hours!) I love you Daddy! I'm so thankful for the 34 years I've had with you and look forward to as many more as the good lord will allow. Happy Birthday!

5 Months Already!

I can't believe my baby girl is now 5 months old. Truth be told I really can't believe her brother will be 13 in less than a month. Where does time go? I knew before I had her I needed to savor every minute because you wake up one day and your beautiful baby is a month away from turning 13 and incredibly independent. I just don't know what I would do without my Christian. He is not only a loving and caring brother but he is the most well mannered, thoughtful, considerate child a parent could ever wish for. I didn't savor every minute with Christian. I was too busy trying to figure out how to be a Mommy. Don't get me wrong, I remember him as a baby and the funny things he did. I mostly remember those beautiful baby blues and that adorable red fuzz on his head. He has always been patient with me as I try to figure out this journey we are traveling on. He loves his sister. I hope one day my Georgia realizes how lucky she is to have Christian as her big brother. He is so protective of her and her feelings. Any time he holds her he kisses her all over. He makes sure to kiss her goodbye on his way to school and always greets her when he comes home. When she hears his voice you can see her looking for him. We were in the living room one day and he had come home from school, played with her for a little bit, asked if he could get some juice, went to the kitchen and as soon as he was out of sight my Georgia started screaming. As soon as she could see him again she settled down. My Christian is just what I need!!

Funny, this was supposed to be a post on my Georgia and how big she's gotten but this picture just reminds me of my sweet Christian. I hope he knows how very special he is to me and how this family just doesn't work without him. As a matter of fact I will close this now and go tell him myself.
