England

We just returned home from 2 weeks in England. We took Georgia to visit with her family and to finally meet her Great-Grandmothers. It didn't take much but she won their hearts with her beautiful smile.

This is Georgia's Grandma Clarkson's mother and aunt. From left to right, Georgia's Great Great Aunti Dot, Georgia's Grandma Clarkson and Georgia's Great-Grandma House. She had them capitvated. Dot and Gran House kept saying, "Oh, she looks like our Jason." They even asked if I thought she looked like Jason. I smiled and said yes. The whole time knowing I've been saying the same thing since she was a minute old.

This is Georgia with her Grandpa Clarkson. Georgia was very taken with her Grandpa. Every time he walked in the room she lit up. She really loves both of her Grandfathers and I'm so glad we were able to get her over there to spend more time with them and get to know them a little better. If my daughter is anything like me her Grandpa will be very important in her life and she will cherish every minute she has spent with him.

Our first Saturday there we went to Goole where Georgia's Great-Grandma Clarkson lives. We spent time with her and then we went to her Great-Grandpa Clarkson's gravesite. The last time we were in England it was for Grandad Clarkson's funeral. That was 2 years ago. Grandad Clarkson was always very kind to me. The first time he met me I sat beside him and he held my hand the whole time. When we got up to take pictures he held my hand outside and in the picture you can see him holding my hand close to him. I'm not sure why he took such a liking to me but we connected. When Jason and I had our beautiful daughter and were trying to come up with a name for her nothing really seemed to fit. Then as we were in the recovery room after my C-Section we both agreed our little blessing would be named after the man who took my hand and wouldn't let it go. George Clarkson was a very special man to me.

Here is Georgia with her Great-Grandma Clarkson. Gran Clarkson couldn't take her eyes off our Georgia. Jason's best mate in England said it best and this is probably why everyone was so taken with her and couldn't stop staring at her. He said, "I never thought I would be sitting here holding YOUR kid!"

  2. It all looks nice but I'm just glad you're home. Two weeks is far too long to be without you and your family. :)
